Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageThere is a possibility that they will be conducting human studies for this in the next 3 to 4 years. Very impressive.
Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageI used to think this stuff would only help the next generation, but at 46 and at the rate of change we're seeing in medical research, some of these things could easily end up helping me as I age.

Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageThis is interesting, Was it Bush that decided to stom stem cell research because religion disagreed with and when Obama came to office he lifted the ban, and shut down gitmo bay?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/ma ... l-research So 3 years later and these are the results. Another scientific development delayed because of beliefs. I know some of you may be strong to a religion and I am defiantly not starting that topic here I recall this graph: ![]() Zap Zap Zappedy! *Giggity Giggity Gu*.

Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageNow the only thing slowing down scientific development is greed.
Before you do something you can't undo, think of all the things you can't do once you've done it.
Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageAgreed, Patent and copyright, even though protects you and me from people out to make a quick buck from our work. It does slow down development of the next innovation. Sadly the law does not help anything but greed, lets hope for change.
I remember hearing about how a major oil company owns the patent to a water molecule to power a engine of a car, I think they bought it back in the 1980's. Sadly they couldn't develop that engine further HAHA Zap Zap Zappedy! *Giggity Giggity Gu*.

Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageI am of the opinion that patent law is destroying innovation, myself, but I understand many disagree with me.

Re: Stem cells repair stroke damage
Truer words...
Re: Stem cells repair stroke damageI agree, that in some cases they are needed, like microsoft taking a XML reading software straight from a small company no one heard off, and gave them no royalty's. that is one case, but it was formatted back when computers never excited.
They are a abused more than used. Aka Google buying motorola for one reason, Their Patients. Zap Zap Zappedy! *Giggity Giggity Gu*.
